The Halal Meat Monitoring Initiative (HMMI) serves the Muslim community by verifying that meat labeled as halal meets true zabiha standards. Our mission is to eliminate confusion and restore trust by ensuring that participating establishments adhere strictly to Islamic slaughter requirements—all through a free service dedicated to the community.

The Prophet (SAW) said “The lawful is clear, and the unlawful is clear. Between these lie matters of doubt. Regarding these, many are ignorant. Whomsoever falls into these, falls into the unlawful, like a shepherd grazing (his flock) upon a sanctuary's perimeter very soon falls into trespass.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
